Trench Lock Pool, Trench Middle Pool and then Priorslee Lake

7.5°C > 8.0°C: Clearing after early rain and wind. Moderate / fresh NW wind. Very good visibility

Sunrise: 08:06 GMT

Trench Lock Pool: 09:35 – 10:20 // 10:55 – 11:15

(35th visit of the year)

Notes from here
- most of the Canada Geese flew in c.10:00
- the adult Common Gull was my first of this species here this year. In years gone-by there was a big gull roost here and it was the most reliable site in the area to find this species: it is far from ‘common’ locally
- the Feral / Racing Pigeons were mostly nearly all-white. Not seen flocks like this locally

Birds noted flying over here [apart from the local Wood Pigeons and Jackdaws coming and going]
- 14 Canada Geese (2 groups: to Middle Pool?)
- 1 male Sparrowhawk
- 17 Feral / Racing Pigeons (2 groups)
- 3 Starlings

The counts from the water
- 1 + 6 Mute Swans
- 87 Canada Geese
- 9 (5♂) Mallards
- 1 (1♂) ‘feralMallard
- 2 (1♂) Shoveler again
- 1 (0♂) Pochard

Priorslee Lake: 11:15 – 11:35

(154th visit of the year)

Due to the very wet period around dawn I stayed home until after the rush hour and then went to Trench first. Limited time at the lake so just a rather quick count of the birds on the water

Notes
- the resident Mute swans had managed to eject the visitors from yesterday
